A Guide to West LA's Persian Food Scene

4 of 10
A local staple located in the heart of Westwood, Shamshiri is the epitome of a traditional Persian restaurant. Start your meal on a high note by ordering two of my favorite appetizers, Kashk-E-Bademjan (a sauteed eggplant dip made with caramelized onions and mint) or Tahdig (crispy rice topped with Persian stews like the delicious Ghormeh Sabzi or Khoresht-E-Gheymeh). If a kabob is on your mind, the Beef Shamshiri plate is the way to go with a combination of their Beef Koobideh (a skewer of ground beef) and their Beef Barg (a thinly sliced piece of tenderloin that’ll melt in your mouth).
