Chocolate Chip Cookie
It might be surprising to learn that America’s favorite cookie was invented in the state that invented America. The chocolate chip cookie came to be in the town of Whitman at an inn called the Toll House by an intrepid baker named Ruth Graves Wakefield. While there are no shortage of bakeries and restaurants proffering up their own delicious versions, we’re partial to the giant, rippled version found at Roxbury’s Haley House Café that has just the right ratio of crisp to chewy.
