Summer brings plenty of occasions to get together with friends and family over lots of great food and drinks, and the 4th of July is one of the major events of the season. There can be a lot to do, though, and it's usually hot, but while you can't have a party without dessert, it doesn't have to take a lot out of you—or even require turning on the oven. You can always simply dish out some ice cream (perhaps accompanied by grilled fruit if the coals are already hot), but for the times when you want something a little more impressive, these easy, no-bake dessert recipes are perfect for serving up on the 4th and all summer long.
These Easy Red, White, and Blue Trifles are probably the ultimate example of a dessert that you can throw together at the last minute but that doesn't look like an afterthought at all—and that tastes divine, which is obviously important. Simply cube store-bought angel food cake (or pound cake, or even crumbled cookies), make quick whipped cream, and layer it all together with a bounty of fresh summer berries. (For a large-scale dessert, just increase the amounts and layer everything in a clear glass compote.) Keep clicking through the slideshow for even more no-fuss yet beautiful and delicious desserts.
