The Hideaway is indeed hidden away, inside the Lindero Country Club. Luckily for us, it’s open to the public. The menu is what you might expect from a country club kitchen—salads, sandwiches, burgers, pizza—but there are neat rotating daily specials. Tri-tip quesadilla, anyone?
The chef won some chili competition, and there’s a different chili each day. lil mikey tried tri-tip and chickpeas, in a complex, not-too-heavy sauce: delicious. “I remember the chef when he had a hot dog place at the corner of Kanan and Lindero in Oak Park,” says liu. “His chili there was good as well.”
