Right around this time of year, New York hounds start craving hot-weather adventures. If you can’t afford (or don’t have time for) a getaway, how about food from hot-weather climes?

There’s Purple Yam in Ditmas Park for Filipino food, great Indian and Mexican food hidden around the city, and a thread about Brooklyn’s best Puerto Rican food that is starting to amp up a bit. CarmenR is looking for someplace to take her Puerto Rican boyfriend. She frequents El Gran Castillo de Jagua but says his family “insists that it has more of a Dominican flair.” There are only two Brooklyn suggestions so far. Surely there are more?
