Signifying our editorial kickoff to the New Year, we religiously attend the Fancy Food Show at San Francisco’s Moscone Center (except last year when it was held in San Diego) to see what’s going to dominate the market shelves in the year ahead. It’s always a grab bag of stuff: one part amazement (how does a company name itself Fartless Factory?), one part boredom (how much tea can the world really handle?), and a few parts excitement.
The takeaway this year: There’s a whole slew of gluten-free products coming to the market, chocolate and snacks still dominate the food world, and there is finally a decent
jarred lemon curd on the market—anglophiles across America can rejoice.
