When someone says the words vegan organic Mexican food, you might picture, um, a tortilla? Fortunately, the folks at Gracias Madre, a spin-off of Café Gratitude, are a little more imaginative. “Neither my guest nor I had the feeling of consuming anything but delicious Mexican cooking,” says Fine of a lunch that covered most of the bases on the menu—beans, homemade tortillas, enchilada, tamale, and kale. Portions are huge, too.
