Heads up on a couple of interesting opportunities to explore Armenian food: The Armenian Bazaar and Food Festival at St. Gregory in San Francisco runs September 19 to 21 and features a kebab buffet dinner, pastries, hot and cold sandwiches, vegetarian items, and takeout food, with “only the freshest ingredients used,” according to its flier. Robert Lauriston says he went a couple of years ago and tasted the best kibbeh he’s ever had. He points out a similar event at St. Vartan Armenian Church in Oakland, October 3 and 4, saying he went to that one last year and it was great.
