At the Slow Food Nation Marketplace, I sampled a refreshing drink made with Coke Farm’s Meyer Lemon Syrup and sparkling water. I liked how clean it tasted, with no bitter aftertaste, while still maintaining a true lemon flavor. The syrup is handmade using an old Swiss recipe and the farm’s own lemons. Christine Coke, sales manager for the farm, says that some of her favorite ways to use the syrup are drizzled over vanilla ice cream, pancakes, or pound cake, and that it “makes a mean Lemon Drop or other cocktails in lieu of simple syrup.”

If you’re in Palo Alto, California, you can find it at the farmers’ market. Otherwise, call Coke Farm at 831-623-2100 to mail-order a bottle.
