The owner of this grocery-deli in Sunset Park fills special orders for Mexican ices—like hoopsjunkie’s recent wish list of four dozen: half cucumber-chile and half tamarind-chile. (El Paisano aims to open a sit-down restaurant in a few months. In the meantime, hoopsjunkie says, it makes excellent tortas to go.)
In Sunnyside driggs has sniffed out addictively great cholados at a Colombian café called Pecas y Mas. Made with fresh fruit, juice, ice, and condensed milk, they’re “out-of-this-world” delicious, he promises.
