The gorgeous late-summer harvest time is upon us again, and owen_meany‘s partner is fixated on finding a dining spot with a focus on in-season produce, “something crisp and summery and almost healthy.” The hounds recommend:
• Hamersley’s Bistro. A French South End place, it’s known for its vegetarian tasting menu bursting with fresh produce.
• Oleana, which emphasizes its farm-fresh produce, sourced from a private farm in Sudbury. “The garden setting is lovely,” advises Madrid.
• East Coast Grill, which always features a fresh vegetable plate at dinner. On the menu it’s tagged the “All Vegetable Experience of the Day,” and it comes with or without dairy for $17.50.
• Highland Kitchen. Its “locavore plate” is a wow, recently featuring grilled local bluefish, creamed corn, roasted fingerling potatoes, cherry tomatoes, and cucumber. “Summer on a plate,” says LeoLioness.
