Some fruits will taste better if you let them ripen unrefrigerated. Once they are fully ripe, UC Davis’s Postharvest says, you can store them in the fridge for up to three days without sacrificing flavor.
Let ripen, then refrigerate:
  • Peaches
  • Pears
  • Plums
  • Avocados
  • Kiwis
  • Nectarines
