The search for a decent shredded beef hard-shell taco may very well stop here: The shredded beef is succulent and flavorful, the result of long, slow cooking. Skip the chips and salsa—with the hard-shell taco, you don’t need them anyway. At lunch, two decent-size (not overstuffed) tacos with rice, beans, and a can of soda go for $5.

The beef also makes for a pretty good wet burrito, though it’s kind of overshadowed by beans.
