“If you like Vietnamese sandwiches and avocados then you’ll like Jenjon’s Cafe,” says hhc. Expect “awesome fusion sandwiches” from a nice Vietnamese lady.
The chicken teriyaki sandwich ($4.25) comes on a nice, crunchy French roll, with tender chunks of dark chicken meat and the usual banh mi toppings: daikon, fish sauce, and cilantro. hhc made sure to get some avocado too, although this may be a regular ingredient. Also very tasty is the salmon sandwich ($5.50), which includes a salmon fillet, avocado, and the same toppings.
This is a tiny place, doing mostly takeout. It’s close to the Union City BART.
