Jeremy Fox’s abrupt departure from Ubuntu made ripples throughout the local foodie community, but Ridge says the kitchen staff “have maintained the high standard he set, and the food was delicious.” Dan Wodarcyk agrees: “If anything, the plating was more ‘artful’ than before and the dishes perhaps even heartier.”

To start, gazpacho with melon “tasted fresh and vibrant with the perfect hint of vinegar,” Ridge says; Sardinian flatbread (a.k.a. carta de musica), topped with garden salad and truffled cheese, is excellent. Sweet, flavorful oxheart carrots are “maybe the best carrot dish I have ever eaten,” Ridge raves. Buttery potatoes with allium and an intense fava bean pesto are another standout. For dessert, the chocolate soufflé with bitter almond ice cream is “very chocolaty, perfectly moist and deeply satisfying.”
