The old-school New York slice, a dying breed, is alive and kicking at Alfie’s Pizza in Queens. “As good a slice (not pie) as I’ve ever had,” reckons NAtiveNewYorker. “If you travel for good pizza, try them.”
Some caveats: Pass on the pedestrian calzones and heros. Skip the second-rate pizza toppings, like canned mushrooms. Just stick to the plain slice, which kills.
