Even your run-of-the-mill mad molecular genius sometimes needs extra inspiration. Now amateur Adriàs (and pros as well) can turn to a new website to help them get their foam on.

Foodpairing can tell you what foods play well with each other based on their flavor profiles. The pairings the site offers range from the conventional—coffee and chocolate—to the faintly absurd—strawberries and beetroot, or roast beef and licorice. An accompanying blog chronicles some of the creations chefs have whipped up based on the site’s recommendations, like chocolates infused with radish, chives, and fresh cheese, courtesy of Belgian “shock-o-latier” Dominique Persoone.
