Here’s a hound-worthy brunch bite at Park Slope’s Sakura Cafe: ebi-tama, a nicely seasoned, well-made omelette with a few shrimp inside, says Peter Cuce. It comes with onigiri and a green salad with addictively good mustard dressing.

Open around a year, Sakura is a friendly, family-run joint whose menu combines home-style Japanese food, izakaya noshes, and sushi (made not at a sushi bar but back in the kitchen). The daily fish special is a good bet. This is also a great spot to drop in for sake or a beer, says Peter.
