Patti LaBelle is already the author of two cookbooks (LaBelle Cuisine: Recipes to Sing About and Patti LaBelle’s Lite Cuisine), and now this R&B diva is launching a new culinary brand called Patti LaBelle—Good Life. TMZ reports:
The 63-year-old vocal powerhouse is getting into the condiment business, by coming out with a line of five different hot sauces and relishes. Available later this year, the flavors will include Sweet Hot Jalapeno, Rich Red Blended Cayenne, and for all you menopausal women out there—Hot Flash Blended Habanero & Jalapeno sauce!
According to AOL’s Black Voices blog, she will also be releasing a new cookbook and an instructional cooking video through the Good Life brand:
We’ve all witnessed LaBelle’s culinary skills on such talk shows as ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ and ‘The Martha Stewart Show,’ but the DVD will showcase her first comprehensive on-camera cooking exhibition (think Rachael Ray with soul).
Stereogum, a music blog, points out some other musicians who’ve started pushing food and drink products. Among the artists mentioned, Joe Perry of Aerosmith has his own Rock Your World hot sauce, and Marilyn Manson now bottles his own brand of absinthe. (Obviously, it’s called Mansinthe.)
