O. J. Simpson was unceremoniously booted from a Kentucky steakhouse last week by the restaurant’s owner, says a report from FOXNews.com. Jeff Ruby, the owner of Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse in Louisville, Kentucky, says he’s sickened by the attention Simpson continues to get. So when O. J. showed up at his restaurant on the eve of the Kentucky Derby, Ruby had a personal greeting for him:
He said he went to Simpson’s table and said, ‘I’m not serving you.’ Ruby said when Simpson didn’t respond, he repeated himself and left the room.
Simpson gathered his party and split, but his lawyer, who sounds like a charmer, made some vague threats:
Simpson’s attorney, Yale Galanter, said the incident was about race, and he intended to pursue the matter and possibly go after the restaurant’s liquor license.
‘He screwed with the wrong guy, he really did,’ Galanter said by telephone Tuesday night.
Scary! Galanter later retracted his threat, but still, scary!
Waiterrant.net has another take on it:
I would have just told OJ, who, in typical prick customer move, came in at a busy hour without a reservation, that he was shit out of luck. No muss. No fuss.
Lest you forget: Ron Goldman was a waiter. Perhaps Ruby was just worried about his ’trons.
