While Top Chef winner Harold Dieterle’s Perilla successfully opened in New York last week, it looks as though second-season Top Chef cheftestant Sam Talbot won’t be so lucky.

According to some breaking news from Eater, Sam’s plans to open Spitzer’s Corner on the Lower East Side have been spoiled. The piece mentions that Sam and his former business partners have “parted ways,” and while the restaurant itself will open in mid-June as planned, Sam will not be the one saucing and bossing.

Eater comments:

This, indeed, is a shocking turn of events. One does wonder if some of his celebrity responsibilities, those that found him spending lots of time not in on Spitzer’s development, got on his investor’s nerves.
