Who says frozen treats are only for dessert? These healthy breakfast popsicles prove otherwise.

I scream, you scream, we all scream—for something different for breakfast. When it’s hot outside (or even when it’s not), a steaming bowl of oatmeal might not be what you are looking for to fuel up for the day. Here are eight breakfast popsicles that use familiar morning ingredients like fruit, yogurt, granola, and chia seeds in new ways. Bring on the brain freeze.

1. Blackberry, Banana, and Oat Breakfast Popsicles

Think of these as the frozen version of overnight oats. Food and travel author and blogger Kate Hackworthy of @kateveggiedesserts loves surprising her kids with unexpected breakfasts. This one makes use of foraged blackberries blended with almond milk, oats, banana, honey or maple syrup, vanilla, and yogurt for a gluten-free way to start the day. 2. California Strawberry Breakfast Popsicles

Blend until smooth. Pour the mixture into popsicle molds and place in the freezer until partially set, about 1 hour. Remove popsicles from the freezer and top with 1-2 tablespoons of granola. Don’t use up all of those sweet ruby-hued summer strawberries as slices on top of your cereal or yogurt in the morning—save some of them for these popsicles. Dietitian and cookbook author Tori Wesszer of @fraichenutrition whips these up with ripe strawberries, Greek yogurt, almond milk, and lemon juice layered with granola and even more Greek yogurt (gotta get that protein fix). 3. Fruity Coconut Breakfast Popsicles

Chia seeds deliver incredibly high amounts of fiber, protein, antioxidants, and omega-3 fatty acids in one low-calorie package, and they also happen to be crunchy and addictive. The Chalkboard Mag’s recipe shared from Nealy Fisher’s cookbook “Food you Want for the Life You Crave”  is riff-abble using whatever fruit you have on hand from mango to strawberries. 4. Watermelon Breakfast Popsicles

The problem with buying a whole watermelon (and is it really a problem?) is figuring out how to use all of it up. For these a.m. treats, blogging sisters @anncalla simply blend watermelon juice, then layer it in popsicle molds with Greek yogurt and chocolate chips—because nothing gets you through a Monday morning better than a little chocolate fix. 5. Peanut Butter and Banana Breakfast Popsicles

Protein and potassium pair up in these appealing treats on a stick that combine the totable breakfast fruit with the beloved sandwich spread. Blogger and author Kathryn Doherty of Family Food on the Table uses just five healthful ingredients for these popsicles: bananas, peanut butter, Greek yogurt, milk, and honey.
