Actor Alan Cumming is extremely charming on screen, but what you might not know is that he is just as charismatic when he’s tending the bar. That’s what we learned when we paid a visit to Club Cumming, his eponymous bar and venue that he owns in New York’s Lower East Side.

The space, which opened last fall, is being hailed as a new nightlife hub full of fun shows and bubbly cocktails. It was actually inspired by the actor’s infamous dressing room afterparties during his run on broadway’s “Cabaret!” Even Paul McCartney and Emma Stone have dropped by for a round of Disney Karaoke. How crazy is that?

While you aren’t guaranteed to catch any celebrities, you are bound to have a few strong drinks. In the videos above, watch as Cumming himself makes some of Club Cumming’s signature cocktails—a Wild Ginger and an Up and Cumming (get it?). The first drink is aptly named after one of the club’s actual bartenders, who just so happens to be a wild ginger himself. It consists of Wild Turkey Bourbon, Fireball whiskey, and a splash of ginger beer. The latter contains Espolon tequila, pineapple juice, triple sec, Rose’s lime and cranberry juice, all shaken up and poured over ice, with a squirt of lime.

While he’s far from the smoothest bartender, he’s certainly endearing. Watch as he bumps into bottles and pours some generous swigs. In the words of Alan himself, “Why be skimpy!?” We couldn’t agree with his technique more!

If you don’t catch Alan at the bar, be sure to check him out on “Instinct.” He stars as a former CIA operative who’s called on to help the NYPD solve a grizzly murder in this new CBS series, airing Sundays at 8/7c. Is there anything Cumming can’t do?
