You know what’s even better than French toast? Stuffed French toast. Yeah, you probably knew where we were going with that one. We’re big fans of stuffed … well, anything. Food stuffed within food? Hell yeah. So here, we’re taking something decadent already, and going beyond over the top. We went over the top, around, and then back over that top. We started with the best stuffed French toast OF ALL TIME, and then gave you more. Because that’s how we roll.
We don’t think much more convincing is necessary than just the first word: Nutella. Really. Add this chocolate-hazelnut spread to anything and it’s better for it. Get our Nutella Stuffed French Toast recipe.
2. Ham and Gruyére
Bill Granger of the Bill’s Open Kitchen cookbook created a very close cousin to the Croque Monsieur. But it’s not exactly the same thing. This is still stuffed French toast. Get our Ham and Gruyére French Toast recipe.
3. Chocolate Chips, Ricotta, and Orange Zest

5. Peanut Butter and Banana
This lovely duo is such a wonderful combination in a regular sandwich and on toast, it makes sense this the pair results in a scrumptious stuffed French toast.
6. Almond Butter and Salted Caramel Brownie
Umm…yes. Let’s have this. Bread slices are slathered and stuffed with salted date caramel and almond butter, then sandwiched and soaked in chocolate brownie batter, pan-fried, and drizzled with more chocolate and caramel sauce. This is nuts.
After the usual habit of dipping the bread into the egg-milk-vanilla mixture, you dip the slices in crushed graham crackers and pan-fry. The melty chocolate and marshmallows ooze from within, creating a campfire childhood favorite with no fire needed.
8. Key Lime Pie
After all these heavy and decadent versions, this Key Lime Pie Stuffed French Toast might be a relief. The recipe uses healthier substitutes, like Greek yogurt and vanilla-almond milk. You can use regular limes too.
9. Dark Chocolate and Cranberries
Is it breakfast? Dessert? Whatever. Theobroma cacao and tart fruit take this well over the top, until you don’t know where you are.
10. Raspberries and Coconut Cream
Friday Is Cake Night’s overnight stuffed French toast recipe is makeable the night before, obviously, so you can wake up in some total fantasy of vanilla and cream cheese.
