Welcome to Slow Cooker Sunday! Plug in and chill out for what’s supposed to be the laziest day of the week.

This one is easy, but it takes some mindfulness in order to prevent the mix from burning and allowing it to dry out evenly. Remember to keep stirring every 30 minutes! The cracker mix and ratio is up for discussion.

Slow Cooker Party Mix
Makes approximately 10 cups

2 cups oyster crackers
3 cups rice cereal squares
3 cups cheese cracker squares
2 cups salted almonds
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
2 teaspoons hot smoked paprika
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Step 1: Place the oyster crackers, cereal squares, cheese crackers, and almonds in a large slow cooker and turn the cooker to low heat.

Step 2: In a large bowl mix together the soy sauce, liquid smoke, paprika, and butter and pour it over the crackers in the slow cooker. Mix well.

Step 3: Cook for about 3 to 4 hours uncovered, stirring every 30 minutes or so, until the mix has dried but has not burned.
