Delicious hummus in many flavors and freshly made falafel are winning fans at Nish Nush in Tribeca, which replaced a corner hot dog joint last month. Red Hot Chili falafel (other varieties are spinach-mushroom and herbaceous green) is flavorful and kicking hot, JackS reports on Chowhound. As for hummus, foodwhisperer finds it outstanding, even plain with just a drizzle of olive oil, but you can also have it blended with add-ons: onion, roasted pepper, corn, artichoke, kalamata olive, spinach-and-herbs, or tomato-harissa.
Sandwiches are hefty and filling, and pitas are fresh and baked in house. Beyond falafel and hummus, try a side of fried cauliflower with tahini—it’s “completely delicious,” downtownchica promises.
