The $20 four-course feasts at Mr. Pollo on Mission Street won loyal admirers long ago. Now comes news that the Venezuelan-born chef has returned to his Italian cooking roots with a four-course menu featuring handmade pasta via a pop-up at the Mission’s Roxy’s Café. Mr. Pollo remains open, but Chef Manny Torres Gimenez is manning the stove at Roxy’s Monday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. On Chowhound, Dude Swenson reports that the food is solid. A recent meal included butternut squash soup and salad along with pasta Bolognese and pumpkin ravioli, both handmade.
