Highland Park’s York Boulevard has become a hip food destination. One spot Chowhounds are especially excited about is Maximiliano, a bustling Italian restaurant that is “elevating comfort food to a higher level,” according to ExtraCheesePlease. The homemade pastas, brick-oven pizzas, and other Italian staples here are affordable. The delicious pasta Bolognese has made bunbun return again and again; Will Owen has been impressed with the fennel sausage orecchiette and the tender-crusted pizzas. Favorite entrées include a pan-roasted pork chop and chicken Marsala.
A word to the wise: Make reservations to avoid the long waits. And if you’re bothered by loud dining rooms, make that reservation on the early side.
Discuss: Maximiliano is Pretty Darned Good
