The owners of Littleneck, a seaworthy clam shack in Brooklyn, have gone upmarket and terrestrial at The Pines, their month-old place just up the block. Expect seasonal, Mediterranean-leaning fare—like Virginia-made prosciutto; pici with trotter ragu; and maitake mushrooms with huckleberries, stracciatella, and puntarelle (pictured)—from Chef Angelo Romano, who cooked at Roberta’s in Bushwick and the now-closed Masten Lake in Williamsburg. The Cookbook Addict, weighing in on Chowhound, pronounces The Pines “spectacular.” Among other dishes, she’s fallen for jicama in coconut dressing with pancetta and sorrel (“crazy good, more than the sum of its parts”).
