Little Pepper, a Queens destination for Sichuan Chinese, decamped from downtown Flushing last year to larger quarters to the north. This year its owners reopened the original location as a hot-pot house, where Chowhounds say they’ll be hanging out as the temperature falls.

One of them, kathryn, recounts an excellent spread of fatty beef and lamb, spicy beef, bean curd, mushrooms, bean sprouts, seaweed, and cabbage, dunked into a divided pot of spicy and nonspicy broths. (The brief menu also offers a few appetizers and noodle dishes.) “Awesome dinner,” she says. “Very friendly service. Left absolutely stuffed.”
