Recent talk on Chowhound was all about how Greek yogurt makes a great base for dips, sandwich spreads, and marinades. Not surprisingly, it’s especially popular in Greek dishes: Breadcrumbs says this tzatziki recipe from The Olive and the Caper by Susanna Hoffman is “spectacular” with authentic yogurt, while katecm stirs diced shallots, dill, lemon juice, and crumbled feta into Greek yogurt to serve with grilled chicken and vegetables.
To make a topping for fish tacos, jmcarthur8 purées Greek yogurt with cilantro and jalapeño until smooth (CHOW’s recipe for Jalapeño-Cilantro Yogurt Spread keeps the ingredients a bit chunky). For a simple dip or sandwich spread, bluex stirs Sriracha into Greek yogurt.
And caviar_and_chitlins marinates chunks of chicken in Greek yogurt mixed with ginger, garlic, and curry powder, then threads them on skewers before grilling.
