Moultons in Medford is a longtime Chowhound favorite for fresh seafood. “The cooking wouldn’t win any awards for creativity,” pemma notes in a recent thread, but “the fish could not be any fresher.” Pappabuona likes the haddock chowder, rlh the lobster scampi, which is big enough for two and usually costs less than $30. But treb is less impressed with the Italian-style entrees, though Pappabuona says the pasta frutti di mare with white sauce is excellent, lots of scallops, clams, and mussels. The vegetables are definitely to be avoided—they’re frozen and in need of some “serious seasoning,” treb says.

MeffaBabe also likes Moultons, but warns that it can get busy on Friday and Saturday nights. Service can be slow. Still, “the kitchen is tiny and everything is prepared fresh,” MeffaBabe says. “We feel it is well worth the wait.”
