Kouign amann is a traditional Breton cake, made by folding salted butter and sugar into croissant dough. The best kouign amann rainbotlart has found in the LA area is in Montrose, at a place called Baked. Other Chowhounds love the kouign at Bouchon Bakery in Beverly Hills, the only Bouchon location that makes the pastries. They’re wonderful, Cucinamore says, but at $4, they’re also pricey.
