Many New York hounds have heard of Dallis Bros. Coffee, a local institution that’s been roasting beans for retailers and restaurants since 1913. But few have ventured out to its plant in Ozone Park, Queens. Tantissimo, who has, says it’s worth doing.

Dallis’s factory tours—usually once a month on Saturdays, or by appointment—begin with a beautifully made coffee beverage of your choice. They end with a crash course in sniffing, tasting, and talking coffee. And you won’t leave empty-handed: The $10 tour includes a bag of beans for the road. The next Saturday tour takes place in early August.
