At The Lobster Shanty in Salem, you can find traditional New England lobster rolls (with mayo and celery), but you can also order them “Connecticut style”: warm lobster meat and drawn butter on a toasted bun. The Lobster Shanty menu lists this as a “stripped down lobster roll,” and MichaelB says it’s a nice choice.

“The lobster meat itself was great—tender and sweet. Not really heavily buttered at all—the roll actually held up until the end,” MichaelB says.

The lobster rolls are $19, and come with french fries. MichaelB would definitely consider returning. “I wouldn’t make a special trip for it, but if you’re in Salem it’s a good option.”
