Which brewpub is the nation’s best? Hard-core beer fans design summer road trips around hitting up America’s finest, and industry experts publish annual brewpub best-ofs. Now it’s your turn. Over the next four weeks, you’ll be able to vote for some of your favorites in our Best Brewpub in America bracket.

We’ve picked 16 of the nation’s best, places known for good food and well-made beers. The brewpubs in our bracket are the kind that get crowned at events like the Great American Beer Festival. And we cast a wide net geographically, from the Wrecking Bar in Atlanta to the Chuckanut in Bellingham, Washington, and from the Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery to North by Northwest in Austin, Texas.

The only other rule was that the finalists had to be actual brewpubs, meaning that they serve food and brew on-site. In this first round, we tried to pair up the contenders broadly by region. Each day on CHOW, we’ll highlight a different matchup. Each of the four voting rounds lasts one week, and you can vote once per day, for each of the seven days of voting. Votes are expressed as percentages that update immediately, meaning you’ll be able to see how the voting is going in real time.

By the time the voting for the final head-to-head wraps up on May 14, CHOW readers will have crowned the nation’s best—just in time to plan that summer road trip.
