Overheard on the San Francisco Bay Area Board

"I always enjoy Taqueria Mi Familia in San Rafael. I went there today and had their Tostada de Ceviche. I always like it; lots of small pieces of fish mixed with colorful bits and spices. Good sized for $2.70." – Malcolm Ruthven

"Dinner at La Mar turned out to be the highlight of the trip, foodwise. ... We ordered cocktails (maracuya sours) to start and they put a basket of dangerously addictive chips (plantain, potato, etc.) and a couple of salsas on the table to go with them. We ordered two different ceviches - the tuna and the halibut and both were delicious and fresh. Then we shared the quinoa salad, the vegetarian empanadas (filled with cheese and corn and some other things I can't remember), and the grilled fish main dish. Everything was really flavourful and service was efficient and unobtrusive." – Nyleve

"Had a great breakfast this morning at Bocadillos ... their main plates come with toast (which is accompanied with top-notch butter, some type of spicy sauce, sea salt, and jam), perfectly dressed mixed greens, eggs (perfectly poached) and patatas bravas (tasted great, although wouldn't have minded it being a bit more spicy). I had the Catalan-style sausage hash as my main dish, and it was extremely tasty. Just a great low-key vibe too; friendly bartender, some people were in there to eat, some were just catching up over coffee." – vulber
