Best Coffee Shops in Manhattan's Lower East Side

Ludlow Coffee Supply - 176 Ludlow St, New York, NY 10002

This barbershop slash coffee shop offers exceptional coffee and pastries, not to mention the Instagrammable marble tables and dark wood accents. The maple latte is second to none. You will not be disappointed with the perfect balance of flavors.

El Ray Coffee and Luncheonette - 100 Stanton St, New York, NY 10002

The little hole in the wall restaurant features fresh balances of sweet, spicy and sour, with vegetables taking center stage in a new way. In the summer, the bright restaurant opens the front windows so you can easily people-watch alongside an open back kitchen.

Sel Rrose - 1 Delancey St, New York, NY 10002

Located next to pink doors draped in bulbed lights reminiscent of Paris, is Sel Rrose's new coffee shop location. Noted for their fresh oysters, this location offers Counter Culture coffee in an industrial chic cafe nestled alongside the restaurant.

River Coyote - 121 Ludlow St, New York, NY 10002

I'm going to indulge about this place quickly. Not only do they offer great coffee and Dough donuts, the wine and coffee bar serves brunch, lunch and dinner and has equally exceptional staff. We stopped to chat with the baristas who live double lives with additional full time jobs, who work at the restaurant purely because of their love of coffee. Stop in and say hello and slow down for a bit of a chat, you'll leave feeling lighter, happier, and caffeinated.

Irving Farm - 88 Orchard St, New York, NY

Before third wave coffee became a staple of independent coffee shops, there was Irving Farm. Two college friends created the first location in Gramercy Park. Fastforward 20 something years, and Irving Farm is one of New York's most beloved hometown roasters with seven cafés and a bustling wholesale business.

Three Seat Espresso - 137 Ave A, New York, 10009

Another barber/coffee shop recently opened in Alphabet City, filling the Ost-Cafe-shoped hole in our hearts. The sun drenched cafe is speckled pops of yellow, comes from Bluestone Lane co-founder Aaron Cook and longtime barber Avi Mavlyanov. This cafe does it all, including serving beer, wine and the best Avocado bagel I've ever had in my life.
