Food and drink that has us seeing gold
There aren't many scratch kitchens that create everything literally from scratch, but at Bear in Boots Gastropub, they do just that. Located in Falmouth, Mass., scratch kitchen here means doing your own butchering, making your own pasta, bread, ice cream, custard and even ketchup and mayonnaise.
The British gastropub is bustling in the summer months, as you can imagine, but it's also worth a drive during the off-season. Here, you can snack on an enormous salted table pretzel served with a side of grainy mustard.
For snacks, try the warm French dip with au jus and creamy horseradish or the fried chicken panini and order up a side of poutine fries for the table.
Be sure to check out their calendar for live entertainment on the weekends.
Bear in Boots is located at 285 Main Street in Falmouth, Mass.
