Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ⅔ cup chopped yellow onion
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon dry oregano
  • 2 cups tomato passata
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Directions
  1. In a saucepan, over medium heat, add olive oil and chopped onion. Cook until soft, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute or until fragrant.
  3. Add the dry oregano and cook for 30 seconds.
  4. Pour the tomato passata in and add the parsley, basil, sugar, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Cook for about 10-15 minutes on medium to low heat, stirring frequently.
  6. Remove it from the stove. Use right away, or transfer to a jar.
