Ingredients
  • 1 cup long grain brown rice
  • 8 cups filtered water
Optional Ingredients
  • chopped chives
Directions
  1. Put the rice in a colander and rinse under cold water for 2 minutes to remove the excess starch.
  2. Add the water to a large pot and bring to a boil.
  3. Add the rice to the pot.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium high and cook for 30 minutes uncovered.
  5. Drain the rice and return it to the pot.
  6. Cover and let the rice steam in the pot for 15 minutes.
  7. The rice is ready to serve.
