Miracle of Science's good burger
The somewhat extravagantly-priced ($7.25 plus $0.25 for cheese) burger at Miracle of Science is solidly in the Top 5 for the Boston area.
You get a nice-sized patty (looks machine-formed) on a pretty good bun. The burger obeys the three requirements of a great hamburger:
1. Properly cooked. I asked for "rare," and I got rare. No need to plead with them or say "actually, really, in fact rare, and not medium-well."
2. Juicy. Depending on the grinding technique and the cuts used, even a rare burger can posess a sort of rubbery or mushy, dry texture. This burger let forth a fountain of beautiful pink juices every time I took a bite.
3. Well-seasoned. The guy working the grill used an appropriately prodigous quantity of salt and pepper on both sides, meaning there was no need to add condiments before chowing down to a perfectly salty, peppery beef experience.
I do, however, take issue with the potatoes that come with the burger. They're oven- (and then pan-)roasted red potato chunks, and have a caramelized type flavor, but not enough salt. Plus, they're pretty dried-out on the outside by the time they get to you. Next time, I'm subbing some delicious-looking greens with cilantro dressing (somebody ordered their burger like this while I was there).

$7.25 plus .25 for cheese isn't too extravagant these days of $12+ burgers. There aren't THAT many places selling them for less (unfortunately).
I think the potatoes are pretty good but wish they had fries (or onion rings).

Speaking of burgers, I was walking by LTK yesterday and saw three guys about to dig into these gigantic burgers. They looked pretty good. Has anyone tried those?

Yeah, the potatoes are good, but given how well they prepare most of their food, I know they would do a great job with fries.
Oh well.

I've seen people wolfing those burgers down, too. My only quesion is, will LTK cook them to order (I like mine rare to medium rare), or do they follow the standard corporate line of preparing all ground beef to at least medium?

The Miracle burger is pretty good, as is everything else I've had there. I also like the Casablanca burger (and fries!) a lot.

Miracle burger = Audubon burger. Both in Boston's top 5. And given the somewhat rising prices of burgers in some of Boston's restaurants (see my Alchemist Lounge post) I think $7.25 is a veritable bargain!
Though I agree about those potatoes, fries would be so much better. It's almost impossible for me to enjoy a burger without fries (I realize that's my issue, but still..)

On our last couple of visits to MoS, I noticed that the portion of potatoes has become much smaller than say, even a few months ago. What gives?
