Anyone been here and have thoughts? Would this be a destination for a special dinner? What's the best dish?

  1. Minako is one of my favorite restaurants, the food is wonderful, whether you go for the sushi or cooked items I'm sure you won't be dissapointed. I love the fact that it is a family run restaurant and everything down to the soy sauce is organic, some of the greens are even grown in the chef's own garden.

As for special occasion dining, it depends on what is important to you, the restaurant is on mission, it's tiny and I don't think they will take reservations. The service is slow, very slow, some people find it painfully slow. I personally don't mind because I know the food is worth the wait. The service is friendly but it's not the kind of attention you might want for a special occasion. They will not kiss your ass, but then again they won't charge you extra for it either.

The food is great. You should definitely go, I would try it once before planning that special dinner to see if it could be what your looking for.

    1. Be aware that it's very small and bill runs up quickly (prices not always included since choices change according to what's fresh at market that day). Many vegetarian selections.

Last I knew, it took reservations for 5 or more.

Very lousy block--lots of junkie types.

      I agree food is fabulous.
