We loved Green Street Cafe

There has been a lot of activity around this restaurant, especially since I started it with my questioning a few months back. I was looking for a nice place to go post-licensure test and for an anniversary, and a few people agreed this was the best place for the occasion. So I wanted to report, even though someone recently posted a review. In short, we loved our meal there. Started with a 36$ bottle of wine which was lovely and complex. The olive paste and homemade bread beforehand was difficult to stop eating, but had to as the 'green ravioli' app. appeared. This was homemade pasta filled with baby spinach and cheese, and covered with a pale green sauce, made tangy by creme fraiche. Our waiter served everything in a nicely spaced way & was very gracious and helpful. Opted to have chevre on our salads (came with entree) which was delicious. I had bouillabase which I loved, with fresh fennel flavor coming through the tomato broth. Lots of pieces of seafood, including clams and mussels and fresh fish. Partner had lamb which was less successful, was very tender but not a lot of flavor. We were too full for dessert but I wish we weren't, I'm sure it would have been great. We sat there for 2 and a half hours, didn't feel rushed, and we did like the atmosphere of the house-turned-bookshop-turned-restaurant. We told the waiter about the chowhound website so if he has found this, thank you! Oh and the bill, with a 20% tip, was 130$.
