Thanks!

This is per my husband's brief e-mail to me. He is a proud alumni of Chico State. Here are his suggestions:
eating joints - Madison Bear Gardens (316 West 2nd Avenue, Chico, CA 95926 (530) 891-1639) - Bear Burger with curly fries
Aca Taco (133 Broadway Street, Chico, CA 95928 (530) 894-0191)- Carne Asada Burrito
Woodstocks Pizza (221 Normal Avenue, Chico, CA 95928 (530) 893-1500)
tourist sites - Bidwell Park, Chico State campus, downtown watering holes
at night (don't need a car, just walk to all 30 of them)!!!

This is an old topic, but I'm replying anyway for those who might someday find themselves hungry in Chico. (I was born and raised there, though I don't live there anymore.) First of all, for ice cream go to Shubert's, on 7th Street near downtown--it's been around since the 30s, yummy ice cream (my favorite is the lemon custard). Aside from Aca Taco, which was mentioned, for Mexican try the chile verde at a place that's two doors down from the branch of Aca Taco that's in the shopping center at the corner of W. Sacramento and Hwy. 32, where the Safeway is. I think the place is called La Familia, can't remember for sure. There are a couple of pricier good new restaurants--the Raw Bar (downtown, I think it's at 4th and Broadway) and the Black Crow (also downtown, close to campus at 2nd or 3rd and Salem).
I second the recommmendation of the Sierra Nevada brewpub. Haven't been there in a while, but it was always reliable and good and a pleasant setting to boot.
I love Woodstock's Pizza, which was mentioned (there's one in Davis too). Gashouse Pizza is also great, but I fear it might have closed--I'm not sure.
The Saturday morning farmers' market is excellent and cheap, especially this time of year. There's also a Thursday evening market but my dad tells me it's mostly crafts and such, not so much with the great produce.
