New Chinese Breakfast Place in Arcadia

There's a new Chinese Breakfast Place in Arcadia. I don't know what the name is since I can't read Chinese very well (sorry!). It's on Duarte and Second in the plaza next to Carl's Jr. in the Submarine Express space- the address is below. They haven't taken the Submarine Express sign down yet or they might operate under that name since it looked like you can get sandwiches there still. Anyway, they have all your usual Chinese breakfast items. The radish cake I had wasn't as crispy as I would have liked it, but the green onion pancake was good. The soy milk was decent but soy milk always pales in comparison to me because of the great soy milk at VK Foods in Rosemead. I just wanted to let people know about this place in case they craved Chinese breakfast and didn't want to venture to San Gabriel!

      You're welcome!

    2. Went there for breakfast. Wow, what a hole-in-the-wall. The signage on the front says "Submarine Express". It's in a minimall next to Carl's Jr. The only tipoff to Chinese breakfast is the Chinese sign saying "soy milk" on the front. The quality of the food is about the same as Yung Ho Tou Chiang.

Quick service. You order and pay at the front, and the server brings the food to your table in about 2-3 minutes. The soy milk was quite good. The crullers (yeo tiao) were fresh, and the sow bing was doughy also (good).

The have larger chunks of turnip in their turnip cake - it's not bad, it's just a style variation. I am a bit ambivalent about it.

I didn't get a chance to try their various special egg pancakes. Definitely will hit that next time.

Total cost for all that food: $9.65 - WERD.

All in all, a decent Chinese breakfast place. It was quite busy when I went.

They are closed on Mondays. Cash only (no surprise).

Thanks for the heads-up! I never would have noticed this place on my own, especially with the sign saying "Submarine Express" in the front!
