Lunch in LA: American/California Cuisine

I'm visiting L.A. for the afternoon and am looking to find a great American/California style restaurant to have lunch at. I really wanted to go here: http://www.offvine.com/client/offvine... but they are closed for renovations.

Can anyone suggest a place with similar style of food/cooking?

Thanks!

  1. Are you talking this afternoon (Sunday)?

If so, here are a couple of places which offer brunch/lunch on Sundays:

Hungry Cat. They focus on seafood, but use fresh/local ingredients and have great cocktails made with fresh juices. Open from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Campanile. This restaurant is one of the original California/Medeterranian cuisine restaurants in LA, and offers a nice Sunday brunch (open until 1:30 p.m.).
