Anyone been to the new Wegman's???
Just wondering if anyone's been there yet? Heard it's one of the largest built yet. True or not.

Where is the new Wegman's (Weggies as we called it at school in Upstate NY) located?

One just opened in Woodbridge, VA. Another one is under construction on US 29 outside Gainesville, VA. There is also one going up in PG County.

Would be helpful to say where it is.

Apparently the newest store is in Potomac, MD.

No, not Potomac, MD. Potomac store is near Potomac Mills in Woodbridge, VA. I wish Montgomery County had one.

Oops. Thanks for correcting that. I always shop at the Hunt Valley MD store anyway. It's absolutely my favorite grocery store.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/... reports it as 140,000 which is the largest. Sterling is 130,000 and Fairfax about 125,000. I do not know the size of their stores in Gainesville, near Leesburg, and near Crofton which are under construction.

No wonder the Fairfax store gets so crowded!
In all seriousness, I have almost stopped shoppng at Wegman's unless I can get there etremely early in the morning. Otherwise I tend to get frustrated at the traffic jams with the shopping carts (and whoever invented the &*(*@&( carts shaped like a car for kids should be shot!).

The Fairfax Wegmans is not bad at all during the week. It's only on weekends that it's crazy with traffic. Even then, the checkouts are very efficient, and I've never had to wait more than a couple of customers to get checked out.
