Puerto Vallarta Vegetarian?

We will be in PV in August with our 15 year old vegetarian daughter. Are there any suggestions for veggie food. The restaurant does not have to be exclusively vegetarian, but should have a variety of options beyond rice and beans. Thanking all you chowhounders in advance.

  1. These are the 2 I like a lot:

    Planeta Vegetariano
Iturbide 270 near Hidalgo, up sidewalk steps north of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church DT.

Hidden secret since 1995 [10 tables] which is worth the trek up the hill near the Church. All you can eat breakfast buffet for 45p, lunch/dinner buffet for 65p. From soup to dessert, including fresh beverages and many choices of fruit, side dishes, salads [cactus, mango], corn-black bean salad, entrées as soy enchiladas, eggplant, banana lasagna, falafel in tomato sauce, curry tempura, couscous, beets, tofu and cakes. Nothing but plants, plant products and some milk-based products used. Meal choices, having a Mexican and Asian accent, change daily and seasonally but plentiful. A special filling meal in a wonderfully colorful café. "Best Vegetarian" 2006. No CC.

    1. Most of my family and friends are vegetarian and we have had some great dinners at the following restaurants by requesting a vegetarian plate that was not on the menu: El Arrayan, Hacienda Xochitl, Vista Grill, etc. Also, Cafe Candela, a wonderful neighborhood place in en centro has great vegetarian pizzas (flor de calabaza) and salads, and grilled asparagus, beets with goat cheese, etc.

      1. Archies Wok , no question offers the best vegatarin options...
