Road trip to Boston..

Hey Boston Hounds! My SO and I are road tripping to your part of the world in early August..was hoping to score some Red Sox tickets, but little did I know what a crazy pipe dream that was...you people do love your sports teams! Instead, we shall plan to do a lot of eating! I already have some places on my list, but would love a little help from you with some specific recs:
1. breakfast - we are staying just outside the city ( Marriott on Boston Street..) - somewhere healthy OR greasy spoon in that area...we'll decide which way to go depending on our mood
2. somewhere with a patio and a nice view...prefer casual, varied menu - good for lunch, interesting beer on tap if possible
3. neighbourhood gem - I know there are probably MANY neighbourhoods in Boston, which would mean many gems. I am open to travelling a bit. I'm thinking of that "middle of the week" restaurant you go to for a comfortable vibe, consistent food and friendly service..no tourists, no chains preferably.

My first visit was in November and I enjoyed Coda and B and G oysters, but am open to any variety of food just want to avoid uber trendy spots or masses of tourists

many thanks in advance

  1. Middle of the week dinner I would recommend Green Street , Central Square in Canbridge ...good food ever changing menu and great bartending ...T accessible and parking garage next door for 2 bucks a night Have fun...

    1. 2. Daedalus in Harvard Sq., Parish Cafe in Back Bay, or Eastern Pier in the Seaport District.

      3. Franklin Cafe in the South End, Garden at the Cellar just outside Harvard Sq., Gran Gusto in Cambridge.

      1. Technically you are still in Boston, South Boston. One of the few things we have in this neighborhood are a few good greasy spoons for breakfast. Muls at 75 W. Broadway, West Side Kitchen @ 429 West Broadway and Terry's Place @ 676 E. Broadway. All are just a short drive from your hotel.

excellent..that gives us a few to pick from..we will most certainly have at least one non-healthful breakfast..that is what vacationing is all about...thanks much
